I Haven't talked Much about my knitting lately

I Haven't mentioned much knitting lately mainly because i was rather busy these past few weeks.

And now i have too much time , my hours at work have been cut so most of my week is free to knit like a crazy lady.

And my knitting group is going from stength to strength more people are turning up to the nero's knitters group every weekend which is a superb thing.

And monday this week i had my moomin tattoo done on my leg at last, the colour work is going to be done later but i love it, My good friend mmbop shavaz is a practicing tattooist know and i was one of his testers lol!! And yes that is his name he had it changed from steve to mmbop lol!!!

I have also bought a spindle which is fantastic i can barely put it down it's an ashford drop spindle and i'm using merino wool already dyed. a red, orange and blue is being used the blue is actually name blueberry pie which is the main reason i purchased it lol!!

I have finished the ripple and tweed socks which took me a week to make and had to redo the toe but it all works fine and the pattern is cool. i know have 2 shawls on the go one is a medalion pieced shawl, and i'm debating my next pair of socks. i also have a balachlava to start. And petes jumper to carry on knitting and a lace cable jumper for me, i'm bombarded with knitting.

First knitted sock

Just day i finished my first pair of socks, and i totally understand the craze for sock knitting, it's portable, it's quick and there cozy. plus they are a quick and easy way to try out new stitch patterns.

the pattern i used is called Komet.

I found it as a free ravelry download, it's a brilliant pattern, i'm just glad i'm done so i can wear the finished results.

Knitting socks is a thing of my future from know on.

I used patons 100% cotton 4ply 100g and it took one ball to make a pair of size 5 komet socks with plenty to spare. The yarn is lovely to use but be careful it's a slippy yarn, i salvaged stitches many of times with these socks.

I have just recently finshed knitting myself a slouchy hat from a pattern i found a while ago on ravelry called 'Wurm' by katushika. I had bought the yarn 4 days before deciding to knit, i had an urge to by the wool with no project intended for it's use. The yarn is Sirdar Escape, shade - 0187. It's a 51% wool and 49% acrylic and i used 3 50g skeins for the project and have one and abit spare for some small mitts i think which i intended on using the same ribbing pattern which is used for the hat. It's a great and simple project for beginners or as a travelling project. it's took me a few days to complete on and off. I love buyin yarn and finding a perfect pattern for using it up lol! this pattern was made for this wool lol!

On the other hand i know have a few projects to keep my creative senses tingling

1- Buchanan by Louisa Harding. I found the pattern in the first issue of the knitter and i have had a fair share of mishaps and had to start again but thankfully it's working out fine the second time round :)

2- Is My new mint chocolate sock pattern which i'm creating the pattern will be out soon i'm sure it won't take me too long.

3- 3rd project is my parteners new sweater which i have just started and i decide to call it the urple purple jumper lol!! it took me ages to find a man purple for him, i just hope he'll wear it.

I have a few other projects listed 1 of the wurm hat for a present, and another hat which i was just requested to knit for someone, i might started them this weekend as my travelling projects

In the past few weeks insects have been taking a large interest in being where i tend to be, which i'm not too keen on. the other weekend at work while on my own at the shop a giant moth decided to join me behind the count which i wasn't happy about it then went missing for 10 minutes making me think it was safe to work and then after freaking me out for a good 20minutes decided to come out of it's hidding place and fly for the door and left. The moth was creeply big it was as big as my little finger yuke!!

Then i had came across i massive spider in the bathroom inplace of my friendly little spider that i watch when i'm on the loo, it was that big i ended up having t squash it with the mop plus i thought it ate my little spider friend, but i found him today he's moved to another corner in the room where i can still watch him.

And i rescued a big bumble from my bedroom after he'd taken a liking to one of my flowery dresses and wouldn't leave lol!! bless him

It's crazy i haven't posted for a few weeks yet so much things happened, first of all i'm abit cranky this evening due to a new peircing thats just started hurting even though i had it done hours ago, it's a scaffold so it's giving me abit of ear ache, plus its on my sleeping side so bed time is going to be hell tonight. Anyways it looks great and i thank my friend steve for letting me be his lab rat lol!!

Second thing is over a week ago i started the first knitting club in wakefield uk. Whoop we are on ravelry for those that want to join the group is called nero's knitters, we knit every sunday from 1:30pm til we want to go home, last week was the first week which to be honest only had a small amount of people show up but saying that we had a great time, large coffee for the price of a regular aswell for the knitting group which for me was a bonus. With all the lace work going on i decided to have ago to see if i could actually do it and to my shock it's really not that hard and i finished my lace scarf yesterday only three days of knitting it and i blocked it today. it looks beautiful.

And i am now going to start my new pattern called mint chocolate socks, i'm using patons 100% cotton 4 ply shade -1726 , 1722 i have 2 skeins of each and they are 100g each so much knitting to do and pattern planning thats right a new pattern is on the horizon

Yes thats right i'm so chuffed i'm now a Ravelry Designer and i'm planner my future knits already, i've started designing some charts for some colour work, while occupied with a baby blanket a gift for a friend who is expecting this autumn and reading the twilight saga and working so my world is abit full of stuff to do. but i won't let it put me off my work. i've noticed how hard it is to create charts of your without an image using microsoft word it's an utter farse but i works so i'll look the other way till i find something better :)

Totoro mitts

At the beginning of last week i decided to make something nice for my friends birthday, i decided upon some great totoro mittens by brella on ravelry. They took me a few days to make and was very pleased with result as there were infact my first pair of knitted mittens. My friend adores them but i know have the urge to knit a pair for myself.I was thinking of making my pair in the same light grey but with a deeper shade of pink.

my friend also recieved two studio ghibli books on the art of spirited away and howls moving castle which i'm hoping will help her with the animation course she's taking, And a circular needle i managed to get hold of in leeds which i randomly came across in the market.

I had a beautiful weekend off work, which doesn't happen alot so it was very much appreciated to have abit of weekend freedom. I awoke on saturday and went for a coffee at nero and did some knitting and finished reading the twilight, Met up with my mum did some shopping, went to my friends birthday party. and on sunday i shall admit i slept most of the day, and was very lazy it felt great lol!!

And know the mittens are out of the way, i'm finishing my totoro jumper which is coming along really well just abit of sleave to finish and the back and i'm done, although i am considering making a cowl to fit on the jumper and a couple of small pockets on the front on either side of totoro as finishing touches, still need to think about that abit more though.

I know the pictures a little blurry but over all for my first intarsia i think i've done well. i had quite a fight with the different coloured yarns when swapping them but through the struggle and almost giving up i'm happy with the result. Now i know i can try something more complex. Maybe lol!!! i still have another 7 inches of standard knit one row knit the next which is going to be ache worthy, i'm thinking about mixing it up a little . if you have any suggestions for my uber cool jumper please comment. thanx folks. x

I know i've been gone for quite awhile, i've been rushed off my feet working for the past fews weeks and i've finally gotten some free leisure time Wahoo!!
So i've been knitting the rest of my intarsia totoro on my jumper which i have nearly finished, and i have gotten a knitty request from a friend for a jumper with a magpie on to get started in return she's making me a satchel big enough to fit my knitting needles with separate pockets of other stuff, so all is exciting. I've also been watching the gilmore girls non stop, it's easy to knit too which i appreciate cos i still need to keep my eyes on my knitting need abit more practise on that part lol!!

I've also found a few gems on the internet which i love, and are great sites for knitters

the first is a site for making charts for needle point and knitting you just upload you photo click a few opitions and it give you the photo as a chart in a pdf file to save where ever you wish this is on

First intarsia ( totoro jumper)

I started intarsia for the first time and i must say it is very fiddley, once you know what you are doing it's pretty simple, but i have to be relaxed before i start it otherwise i would go mental on it because all the hanging bobbins are driving me crazy, they constantly get tangled and unravel everywhere, it seems it stress upon stress when your a beginner but i shall go on because it's going to be a awesome jumper one it's done with totoro on the front. I have to let out my childish edge sometimes.

If you haven't got this book, i'd recommend purchasing, it's got some great images, beautiful patterns and it bring inspiration to softie knitters. It's by Donna Wilson. Gladly i had a browse in my local bookstore and they normally have all the same old knitting books i see every week, but not this week and i found this lovely gem.

I've done so well with my wisp socks tey are coming on greatly, and look fantastic thankfully.

I'm hoping to finish my socks soon but i don't know with the totoro jumper being a main part of my days, we shall have to see x

Shattered

I'm rather shattered and furious at this present time, I've been working constantly for a good few months now. It is starting to take up most of my living time and knitting time especially. Although i love the amount of money i am currently making i just wish i had more spare time to knit. The money comes in handy for all those knitting luxurys such as new needles, books, magazines, yarns etc... But i barely have anytime to use them at the minute. After i've been at work all i want to do is eat and watch a film and sleep, i am exhausted. truely.

I do on the other hand have the joy of being able to knit at work once it's gone quiet and i've done my jobs but that isn't very often.

I have nearly finished one of my wisp socks it's slowly but surely on it's way to completion ( i know what your thinking it's about time, i know cos i'm thinking the same)

And the month is almost over, another one bites the dust lol!!

Me and my partener have been together now for 2 years whoop! it's been a rough year but we are going strong and happily as ever

The older generation

I have recently started knitting at my work, during the boring hours after doing my duties. And too my amazement i have a great amount of people taking in interest which tend to be of the older generation.
The customers seem to see me knitting and straight away start telling me about there own knitting experiences. If not it's usually to give comments like, " i thought ownly mothers and grandma's knit" or the most often " why are you knitting?" which follows with a look of disgust, strangely enough.
More often than not the conversations start with how the person started knitting, much like a gentlemen that came in a few weeks ago to buy a paper at my work. While knitting at my counter he reached out his hands took my knitting from me and started doing a whole rows of stitches. " i'm quite surprised i remembered how do this, it's been so long" then he passed back the knitting, he explained how he used too knit for his two sisters when they were little, as his mother passed away when they was young and with money being tight he used to make them jumpers and other garments. One thing that interested me was that he, as a man said " Knitting is one of the greatest skills you could learn, it's a shame they don't learn it in schools anymore".
Alot of customers once they have noticed me knitting seem to request wooly items to be made for them, while offering to pay for my services and the yarn.
More often questions are how long have you been knitting?, how do you use dpns?, what are circular needles for?
Recently i went to a yarn store in leeds where a older lady told me the secrts of a knitter, like knitting was a secret society or a covern, as if i never knew the reason why so many women knit.

It shows that knitting is no more a thing of the past but it is also a thing of the future

My six year old brother as even started asking me too teach him but he has the attention span of a nat, his started making a list of items he'd want me to knit for him such as clothes for his kermit teddy and a backpack for his toys.

It's great how many people love or appreciate knitting although many won't admit it, but the knitters know who the other knitters are. Trust me, We do.

Wisp socks

The Wisp Socks

These socks i've resently started knitting are going to be a new member to my sock draw, I resently wanted to experiment with knitting more than one yarn at a time and so i decided to knit a pair of slouchy socks to go with my boots. I'm actually quite surprised at how much i love them and the idea of knitting with a few yarns it makes it far more interesting to see how it comes out. especially since the colours aren't that consistent. Although thats the detail that makes them look quirky. I'm writing the pattern as i go along so i can post it for others to see once i'm done.

New Yarn, New Project

This is my newly purchased Yarn, Sidar Bigga, 50% wool, 50% acrylic. but I have no idea what i really want to knit with it. It's quite a concern Because if i don't decide soon spring will come and then the yarn shall have to wait till next winter.

I found in a yarn shop about half an hour away in leeds it was £1.50 a skein. As soon as i saw the yarn i snapped it up. it was too beautiful to leave laying there, i have noticed in both of the coloured skeins i bought the yarn has different speckles of colours in them which makes them look like they shine. It makes me feel like yarn magpie when i glance at them.

Anyways if anyone has any patterns to suggest that would be lovely i wouldn't want my yarn to go to waste.

Well a big achievement and big hat lol!! i've finished it! i have to say the hat is really warm too which is lovely. I like my work on the ribbing so thats a good thing. And i have to say first time using circular needles was a great success. Thank you M again for the needles i love them. Now i'm decideding on my next project as i've bought some new chunky wool to play with it's Sidar Bigga Yarn which i bought for!! GUESS! £1.50p i thought it was a bargin and i adore chunky wool probably in the same way i love dreadlocks lol!! so i'm know planning my next project already i wanna get back on those needles.

Knitted hat madness

Ive recieved my circular needle and have been having fun makeing my baby soft pink, slouchy, big knitted hat. I'm using chunky yarn to keep my ears extra warm since it been very cold lately.

Unfortunately i've made a few mistakes along the way but i shall do abit better the next time i knit one, this is mainly for practice. Although i shall still wear the hat.

I've decided to do the ribbing technique, it's one of my favourites.

Knitting animation start up

I'm starting an animation with my friend i'm help create the set, she need an extra helping pair of hands for all the knitting so i offered my knitting skills. It's going to be a stop motion piece, with a knitted set and cardboard people. we are also going to be looking at perspective for the buildings. crocheted mushrooms and flowers.

My first task is to focus on the green patchy grass which will be made up of square swatchs of different knitting techniques which will then be knitted together, like a patchy knitted quilt which is for the grass.

My little notes-

need 2.75mm needles
need some small mushrooms and a couple a few centimetres taller.
set up my friend an hotmail account to keep intouch about the project.
finish all 200g of wool on the swatchs.
Keep note of all techniques i use through the grass making.
research different ways to crochet flowers, also research by looking at different ranges of flowers.
look at different types of mushrooms.
put all of this into a book for charlotte to put towards her project.

I have found out today i have more shifts at work and this means i will get alot more money coming in which means i can also buy knitting books of which i have being dying to purchase. And lots more yarn to come.

I would like to thank a lady from san fransico called margret, who is kindly donating me some circular needles sizes 3mm, 3.5mm and 4mm. which i am very thankful. I've been waiting for them in the post for a week since she'd sent them off and have to say i am very excited to recieve them so i can start knitting with them.

I did manage to purchase some double pointed needles which i have to say i'm finding quite hard to use as they are quite uncomfortable and fiddly but i'm sure after abit of practice i should be a a dab hand at using these too.

I've currently recieved a new pc from which my parteners mum donated to me which i have got set up, i'm still transferring music which is seeming to take forever.

And i am slowly getting my sleeping time back after the busy birthday weekend.

It's been an hectic few days

It was my birthday on friday and i had an awesome day, my partener took me for a coffee and shopping and we went for a meal at my favourite chinese resturant, i get really annoyed with myself as i eat to many of the starters and get full, i do believe the starters are the best and crispy duck yum!!

Then today i had a coffee with my two great friends lisa and charlotte, and yet again more shopping.And a trip to the pub in the evening.

it's snowing

I quite believe but it's actually snowing, england very rarely see's snow i haven't seen it since i was about 5 or 6 yrs old and i love it. I'm going to take pictures as proof, unfortunately i found out some day news yesterday so i was quite upset, one of my friends and customers at work, passed away last weekend, she was around 70 years of age and she had been hospitalised about 7 months ago but i couldn't quite believe it, but her sister came in and told me and said she thought alot of me, which i thought alot of her too she was a wonderful lady, very kind and loving always asking about me and checking i was ok, she was like another grandma figure in my life and know she has gone i am going to miss her greatly. i'm not very religious but i wish her the best in heaven and Rest in Peace you are in a much safer place now and i know you will be watching down on me at somepoint, goodbye mrs carr.

She had a great life and lovely friends and family as anyone deserves.

on a less morbid note: it's snowing yea!! And i'm listening to ambient music while watching my friends play poker. i just wish i could be in the snow

My First Memory's Of Knitting

I haven't been knitting for long but i'm sure everybody shares a similar memory of learning to knit. Mine was when i was about 10 or 12 years of age i can't remember extactly but i was taught by my nan. As most people when learning to knit they tend to ask a relative or a friend rather than refering to books. My nan used to be a seamstress when she was younger and so i thought that she may have pursuded knitting at some point. I on the other hand was looking for something different to take a hand too and had just found my mum's old needles in her spare room and took them to my nan and asked her too teach me. She first showed me how to slip knot and cast on, then she riped them off the needle and said it was my go. Happily i did so perfectly, she then showed my how to knit and she produced a few rows before giving me the needles to have a try. I got the hang of it although my tension wasn't great. The only probelm was the next time i came to knit i couldn't recall how to go about it, i'd suffered a slight amnesia, my brain had a memory lapse . Until recently when i decided to take up knitting again i had completely forgot how to knit, then for the second time i picked up the needles and without any reference i made my slipknot, cast on my 60 stitches and actually started to knit, it came back too me like a flash back only this time my tension was perfect and i've started learning more and more about knitting and haven't forgot a single thing of it. I think when i was younger i wasn't as interested which why i let it slip my mind ( or needles), but as a young adult who is interested in what she can learn about all arts and crafts, it as become a hobbie of which i enjoy and so enjoyably remember which is great as i can actually finish a whole project instead of a few short rows.

I haven't posted i'm a little while due to everytime i have tried it's taken me 2 hours to get 3 photo's on and then i've gotten stressed and given up on it and decided to do it later. I have to say i feel very guility for not doing so, at which point i decided to throw the photo's aside and just post instead. so i'm supposed to get up for work in a fours hours but still i decide to write and try to get in the mode for sleeping but i'm sure it's going to happen anytime soon as i'm listening to the great cast on podcast and am wide awake.

i've lately been browsing over a website called etsy, i love searching for new inspiration on there it bring light to my ideas in so many different ways i love it. check it out.

My jacket is still not complete my yarn shop is starting to upset me as it still hasen't recieved it's new order of yarn since christmas and so i'm stuck with a gorgeus back piece of a jacket and no more wool to knit the rest i think i may have to have a few words with them. it's upsetting me the fact my first cable jacket may not ever be finished at any point.

i'm hoping more look will come through so i don't get bored do regular things to take knittings place like drinking coffee, searching the internet, walking the park and food shopping i just want to knit damn it!

2 weeks

These past 2 weeks will haunt me throughout the year as the worst weeks of 2009, i have just gotten better from a 15 day trama of being constantly unwell, from a sinuse cold for 6 days to conjunctivitous for 5 days to diaherria n sickness for 4 days. The only day i have had this year where i wasn't ill was infact new years day. I was infact beginning to think i was cursed but it seems today i am fine so i've pulled my weakened self together to blog.

Anyways while i was ill i had a nice delivery from my parteners mum who had brought me a book i ordered and had been waiting for which was KnitKnit- by Sabrina Gschwandtner, I can seriously say it got my creative juices flowing but all i could think of was sleep so i'm going to take a more interested look tomorrow, Also i found 3 knitting magazines today in a charity shop for 30p each and they were all vogue knitting so i've been happily searching through those this eve.

I feel rather guility aswell as i forgot one of my friends birthdays as i was ill, And feel i should maybe knit some gloves for him too apolgise for being poo! i hate it when people miss mine and it is easy to forgive a friend for forgetting but as friends we should not so i think i may need to make him something nice that he would wear so i though fingerless gloves, it's quite his style.

Also this gift will give me focus while i wait for my only yarn shop to order some more wool in for my cabled jacket, if they don't the lady who runs the store did say she could order it in specially for me, which is promising at least i'd hate for them not to stock it anymore and me be stuck with a back of a jacket that would never be completed, that would horrify me so it's Crossed Fingers for me.

i've just realised it's raining i can hear the drops beating down on the skylight in my room and it doesn't sound pleasent

I have noticed that non of the bloggers, on my blog list have blogged yet today so i decided i would has i have just finished the back piece of my cabled jacket, i feel so proud. It's my first cable project and ribbing and it's going extremely well although i do need to state that i could have finished it fast if i had have planned my time to knit but i forgot to diary my knitting hours to keep to and laxed abit, My bad. But it is a big piece and the back only took me two weeks and i have to say it had as much knitting as my last project and i finished that in a month so i'm happy my knitting is getting quicker and i'm learning things along the way, which i am remembering well.

If you haven't bought the new magazine The Knitter, i would if i was you it is a brilliant magazine with beautifully glossy pages, lovely photography to inspire and each issue as a different theme, this issue was Cabling and lace and there are some gorgeus patterns, i also bought a magazine thats an import from the US called knit 1 which is great it's bright and colourful, eye catching some awesome projects in there too, i think they are both going on my magazines to buy list. along with so many others.

And i am currently doing my bit it get together my yarn stash and extra skeins from finished projects and i am going to knot them together and make a crazy scarf at the end of the year for winter. so all my extra yarn isn't going to waste.

Right, i'm kind of suffering at the moment as i've caught i a bad cold, my head is in an uncomfy place right know and i have sleep for 17 hours last night and still would like to sleep except my body can't stay in the sleeping position any longer as it's too painful to withstand so here i am posting. i mentioned the other day the new cabled jacket i am knitting and have the image from the magazine so you can see what i'm going to create.i also have a few images on how my first cabling is going, unfortunatly my camera hasn't caught the colour of the wool right which is a shame, my digital camera and lighting have decide my yarn is a bright orangy red instead of a wine red so i may have to take it outside next time i photography it, unfortunatly i can't at the minute i don't want my cold to get any worse than it already is.

i love how it's got big cables at the bottom egde of the jacket and gets smaller into the ribbing it's beautiful i can't wait till i have finished mine it'll look wonderful.

below- image of my cabling but you can see what i mean about the colour of the yarn the camera has made it look horrid. i'll have to hang it on the washing line outside and take a photo next time. hopefully i'll be better soon *crossed fingers* x

A new year and a new look on life

Resoultions for me-

To make sure i keep up the good work with knits and start to sell some online.

Earn more money so me and my partener can live somewhere better

Get a creative job

Start my Sketchbooks again

start spinning and dying my own wools

have fun and not to let things get me down

Make a local knitting group (wakefield doesn't have one )

see the northern lights in scotland

teach my friends to knit more

and leave my job at the corner shop. (it needs to be done)

Good things of 2008

i got too see the Happy mondays at bingley music festival and Pendulum at leeds

i got my little fellow hamster (coco pop) and she's beautiful

i started knitting again which as brought out my new creative flow

we went to edinbourgh for a wedding but i wanted to go for the adventure

Bad things of 2008

my great grandma and grandad passed away (i miss you both dearly)

i quit university because the course was horrid and ended up suffering from depression and didn't paint for a whole year.

put on a weight (which is always a shock to the system)

me and my partener nearly split up but thankfully talked things through and we are fine know, but that day was the worst day i had to sit through the entire year.

my friend amanda came home from cardiff for xmas and didn't tell me :(

Im hoping 2009 is going to rock my knitted socks off!!!!

God the last post for December, most people love to get christmas over with but i certainly don't it goes too fast for my liking plus it ownly means one thing a new year is round the corner and for me in britain it'll be here in about an hour and half yikes!

but i figured i'd like to end the year with a post so i would like to confess a sin of which i did about a minute ago. well i can't drink alcohol (personal reasons) but i thought i'd have a drink before i go out and remember my good friend charlotte had given me a bottle of coca cola but one of the glass bottled kind and thought i'd have that but to my amazement the bottle just doesn't want me to drink it as i can't get the metal cap off, so i tryed to peel it back with a biro, screwdriver, safety pin which non of them broke, they just could get the cap off so instead i decided to use my two days old crochet kneedle (brand new) metal one size 0.75 and started to prize the cap off and didn't budget but even though i knew it was a bad idea i carried on trying and without fault of my own i broke it! and may i say the cap is still firmly on (damn cola)

so there is a lesson to be learn't here for next year don't spoil something new and nice by trying to open a bottle because so bad will happen too it, no matter what.

i think a resolution for me should be, get bottle opener

i will never fall for this mistake again (unless i'm stupid) :)

Why Hello There!

Hey everybody,

Well i am just taking a short break for a few hours to nosey about the internet for new knitted glories ( things that catch my eye and would love to knit or in yarns case would love to purchase) i like to take a nessesry break to ponder about my work in creation and browse to find new ideas for new inspired works. I know now just looking at my knitting of my new jacket i have been knitting for a few days know that it is going to take a while and i had to start knitting the biggest piece first the back. yikes! but it is going good to say it is my first cabled jumper which surprised me because looking at gorgeus cabling on sweaters, hat, gloves and other beautiful items i always thought cabling was difficult and instead it just looks dawnting as when you read how to cable it is so easy. and then attempting to knit cabling is easier still so i am greatly happy as i know that my red wine coloured yarn will look beautiful when fully finished into my jacket, which if you bought january 2009 issue of Knitting and go to page 20 that is what i'm heading to knit for myself because it is so beautiful there is also a red cape and muff in the magazine that reminds me so much of red ridding hood that i think is beautiful i just don't think i'd have an occasion to wear it myself which is a massive shame. i'm still listening to past episodes of cast on (podcast) keep up the great work brenda really love the show your like a friend that i wish i had.

i shall post a picture tomorrow hopefully of the jacket so you can browse at the jacket if you haven't got the magazine and you can gaze at it's glory

The Punk Rock Backpack

Yesterday i went out for a few hours and came back with a brand spankin new book mainly for reference and a pattern i loved to make which was a punk rock backpack from the Stitch n Bitch handbook by debbie stoller which has now become my new knitting bible until i buy another knitting book that i enjoy just as much, anyway i decide to buy some new wool to start and create this backpack, which i am doing as a side project for when i get abit tired of messing around creating my knit cable hooded jacket.

Anyways i went to my ownly local knitting supplies store to buy some more teddy wool that's the ownly make they sell although it is quite a good bargin and nice to knitting with and so i purchased some teddy vanguard double knit bottle green wool and i purchased 3 balls ( i know i won't need this much but it's for incase) and i have just started it this evening. it's so simple but nice not to having to knit something so time consuming.

If you have this book buy the way you probably have past buy this pattern a few times thought i might make that or you have already done so.

when i have done i'll post a picture of my efforts.

i'm thinking of knitting my brother one for his sixth birthday with Wall:E on it.

:) remember on christmas day and my dad told me that he'd ownly seen me crochet and never knitting well here's my sweet proof HeHeHe! i haven't done knitting 4 about 8 or 9 years but i still can i picked it up again like a baby picks up it's bottle lol!!! mwahahaha!

My beautiful jumper

well this is my new jumper, that my mum had bought for me for xmas and i love it, it's now become my favourite jumper and it's going to be worn a hell of alot. i know the picture is in black and white but that doesn't make any difference on the jumper as it is made up of black, white and grey yarn. It's 80% lanbswool and 20% nylon and is a lovely fit. I hope you like as much as i do.

Morning, Its Christmas day in olde england lol!

And i am still waiting for my partener to wake up so i thought i'd venture on to the web for a hour or so before i have to get ready for the christmas dinner at my nan's house. my mum has already called to wishing me happy xmas even though she's picking me up in about 2 n half hours. She asked me if i'd just woken up? i said yes the next question i got was, so have you opened your presents yet? i admitted that i had already done so last night. Thankfully she didn't mind so yeah for early gifts.

Christmas is great, i love it, visiting family and see them all happy. It's a wonderful time of year, i even had a surprise yesterday when pete (my partener) was actually excited about his gifts. he's never excited at xmas. so that was a great, it made me happier. I mainly can't wait to see my lil bro i bet he's well chuffed with his presents.

All i want to know now is what's on the xmas dinner?

Xmas joy

Welcome to nessaknits this is the first time i have created a blog and i would like to share my fondness for knitting with everybody as it inspires me greatly.

Well it is xmas eve approaching the big day we all enjoy, but i have to admit i opened all of my presents early this year so i could get my mobile broadband internet dongle for my laptop, all i could think about when i unwrapped it was how much joy i was going to get everyday looking up new knitting sites and patterns, i have to say i love the internet. Then i opened up another present to find a nescafe dolce gusto coffee machine so i have got the bestest presents i could have wished for. i now have all i need in my knitting work space i feel today is a great day.

I will post again shortly with knitting funs but i just wanted to give a first Hello to my readers and have a great xmas!!!
